THE DAELY Field Day 2026: A Day of Sport, Community & Inspiration

On July 24, 2026, DAELY brought together youth, athletes, community leaders, families, sponsors, and local organizations for an unforgettable day at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School in Pickering.

DAELY Field Day 2026 was created to give young people a completely free opportunity to experience sport, mentorship, teamwork, and community in an environment where everyone was welcome, regardless of skill level or previous athletic experience.

From the moment participants arrived, the energy was incredible.

More Than a Sports Camp

Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of sports and activities designed to keep them moving, learning, and working together. Football, basketball, speed and agility training, field games, team challenges, relays, dodgeball, tug-of-war and more gave every participant an opportunity to find something they enjoyed.

But Field Day was about much more than competition.

Between the games and activities, participants had opportunities to connect with professional athletes, community leaders, entrepreneurs and mentors who shared their experiences and encouraged the next generation to believe in what they can accomplish.

The response from the kids was one of the highlights of the entire event. From cheering on their teammates to meeting special guests and competing in the championship activities, their excitement carried throughout the day.

DAELY Field Day would not have been possible without the incredible support of the organizations, sponsors, volunteers and community partners who helped bring the event to life.

We were proud to welcome support and participation from the City of Pickering, Town of Ajax and Durham Regional Police Service, alongside numerous special guests, athletes, community leaders and sponsors who contributed their time and resources to creating a memorable experience for local youth.

Their involvement helped make Field Day a true community event — bringing together sport, public service, mentorship and local leadership in one space.

Led by Alonzo Addae

At the heart of Field Day was CFL defensive back Alonzo Addae, whose vision for the event extends far beyond teaching young athletes how to compete.

Growing up in the Durham Region before playing NCAA Division I football at West Virginia University and reaching the professional level in the CFL, Alonzo understands the impact that access, mentorship and positive role models can have on a young person's journey.

Field Day provided an opportunity to bring those resources directly back to the community and surround young participants with people who could encourage them both on and off the field.
